Mistake (Uta x Reader) Part 8

   You had fallen asleep while you were petting Suzuya's hair on your couch. He was already fast asleep. What had woken you up was your cell phone. It was right beside you when it started ringing. You looked at your phone, and saw Amon was calling. Also, it was around midnight, why would he be calling this late, you thought.

   When you picked it up, you heard Amon was talking as if he was out of breath. "(Y/n)... Mado... he...."

   You quietly got up without the heavy sleeper waking up, changed your clothes, and ran out to Akira's. Her house was nearby, so you decided to just go there by foot. You knocked on her door impatiently, and when she opened the door, you went in her house to break the bad news to her.

   "What happened?" She asked you groggily.

   "It's your father," you hesitated to tell her. I've never seen her cry, you thought. "He was killed... by a ghoul." You told her.

   She looked at you with her eyes wide open, trying holding her emotions in. "I think I'd like to be alone for a while.” she told you.

   You left her house and started to walk home. I wasn't able to say goodbye to him, you thought.

   When you went into your apartment, you saw that there was a letter on the couch. It was from Suzuya.

   "I was called by my partner to come and meet him for an emergency, See you tomorrow!!!"

   You sighed. Why did this happen to him, you thought. Maybe Uta might know the killer is... There was a piercing stab coming from your heart. Mado is gone. No one will give you those little tips on the outside world; no one will make you feel like you're their daughter, no one will care for you just as he did. He’s really gone... The closest person that was like a parent for you is gone. You collapsed onto the floor. Why?!? Your eyes started pouring out thick tears. Why?

   Around that time, Uta was walked into the Helter Skelter bar and someone besides Itori was there. He had low-cut brown hair, stubble on his chin, violet eyes, and was wearing a purple v-neck blouse with maroon pants. Uta sat down next to him.

   “What are you doing here Nico?” Uta asked with his unexpressive voice.

   The man smiled at Uta. “I wanted to see if the lion actually fell in love with its gazelle. Itori was right!”

   “Where is she anyway?” Uta asked Nico

   “I was told to take care of the bar, but anyway, let’s go back to the topic of your girlfriend!” Nico said in a teasing tone.

   “You know why I’m doing this.” Uta said to him

   “Do we really need an informant? All we’re after now is to cause some trouble, and even you know that that girl isn’t going to help us. You’re already smitten with her, we all saw it the day you let her go, and now, it’s worse than ever.” Nico had turned away from Uta.

   Do I really love her? He thought. Am I as smitten to her as they say? I can’t let this get in the way of my goal.

   When you woke up in the morning, you were still on the floor. You had gone to the bathroom and saw that your eyes were still red from all that crying. You washed up your face a bit and heard someone knocking on your door. After you dried your face, you walked to the door and opened it. Uta.

   Before you were able to say anything, Uta had started talking. “Why are your eyes red? Were you crying?”

You didn’t answer him so he came into your apartment uninvited again and he had closed the door. His eyes had softened at you. I can’t trust him, but I can’t change what my heart is so stubborn on, you thought.

   “Take a day off from work.” Uta told you with concern. Just after he said that, your phone started to ring.

   It was from Suzuya, so you picked it up. “(Y/n)! Come to your work really fast! I have a surprise for you!” He hung up before you could have said anything.

   You looked at Uta. “I can’t today, sorry.”

   Uta had left your apartment, and you had gotten ready to go to work. Once you reached the CCG building, you saw Suzuya waiting outside the front door. He waved at you with both of his hands, and when you were at the door, he hugged you.

   “So where’s my present?” You asked him.

   “Right here in your arms!” He smiled. You wondered what you would have done without him. His smile started to fade when he saw your eyes “(Y/n), why are your eyes red? Were you crying? Is it because of that guy?” He said with anger.

   “No! It’s because a friend of mine had… died, yesterday.” You told him.

   Suzuya looked at you and apologized. “I’m sorry.”

   You had put on a forced smile. “It’s okay.”

   Was coming here a mistake instead of going with him?
